Digital Archiving Practicum 2024 Winter Term

Celebrating its second year as an Oberlin College Winter Term project, the Digital Archiving Practicum was designed to introduce students to the theory and best practices behind the digital archiving of a cultural materials collection. Throughout the class students were introduced to different two- and three-dimensional digitizing technologies, how to create archival object records and their associated metadata, and how to preserve, conserve, and exhibit (digitally and virtually) a cultural materials collection.
